A Husband’s Crown

Husbands Crown: drawing of crown with burning bush“An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.” — Proverbs 12:4

When I read the first part of this verse “An excellent wife is the crown of her husband”, I think of my wife. From the day we met, she has been a blessing to me. While I am sometimes absent from the awareness of this, she continues to be my crown.

She is my supporter in the things that I truly desire to do. When I make mistakes, she doesn’t throw them in my face, but she prays that G-d will reveal to me my errors, and He does. She is a praying woman who is faithful in the things of G-d. She blesses me each day. She cares for me when I am sick and also makes sure that I don’t make myself worse. She looks after me.

Through the L-RD, she has blessed me with 3 wonderful children. She looks after them and cares for their needs as well. She cooks, cleans, and puts up with us all when we are not doing what we should be doing. While I unintentionally frustrate her with my many faults, she graciously continues to love me and pray for me.

I cannot take any credit for being so blessed with such a wonderful woman to be my wife. The L-RD truly has blessed me and I marvel many times at why I have been so richly blessed with a woman as beautiful and valuable as she. My only response can be is this: He loves me, therefore He blessed me with a woman that would love me.

My wife is a priceless treasure. More valuable than anything this world can offer. I will die for her because she is worth every bit of the sacrifice.

She is my best friend, my love, my precious treasure, my crown.

Each day I pray that I can be a better man for her, a man that she can be proud to call husband.

I love you Iliene, with everything that I have.

Your loving husband.
